Biography

Mýa Marie Harrison, professionally known as Mýa, is an American R&B and pop singer, songwriter, dancer, and actress, born on October 10, 1979, in Washington, D.C. She rose to fame in the late 1990s with hits such as “It’s All About Me,” “Movin’ On,” and “Ghetto Supastar.” Her 2000 album Fear of Flying featured the international hit “Case of the Ex.” In 2001, she joined Christina Aguilera, Pink, and Lil’ Kim for “Lady Marmalade,” which became a worldwide hit and won a Grammy Award. Mýa has also appeared in films including Chicago and Dirty Dancing: Havana Nights. She has released numerous albums and independent projects throughout her career and competed on Dancing with the Stars in 2009, finishing as runner-up. With her success in music, acting, and dance, Mýa has established herself as a versatile and respected entertainer.
