Biography

Michael Phelps is an American former competitive swimmer widely regarded as the greatest swimmer in history. Born on June 30, 1985, in Baltimore, Maryland, he became the most decorated Olympian of all time, winning a record 28 Olympic medals, including 23 gold medals, across five Olympic Games. Phelps achieved worldwide fame for his dominance at the 2008 Beijing Olympics, where he won an unprecedented eight gold medals in a single Games. Known as the "Baltimore Bullet," he set numerous world records throughout his career and helped transform the sport of swimming. Since retiring, he has focused on philanthropy through the Michael Phelps Foundation and has become an advocate for mental health awareness and water safety.
